What does RSS mean?

According to UserLand, "There is no consensus on what RSS stands for, so it's not an acronym, it's a name." I've seen the following:-
  • Really Simple Syndication
  • Rich Site Summary
  • R(DF) Site Summary
  • Rich Site Syndication
  • Rich Syndication Standard

And no doubt many others. I like the first of these, but the others have merit too.

What does it do?

Brings news items from the SCCC webpage directly to your desktop!

How can I read it?

You need to have a News Aggregator. For Windows users I reccomend Abilon.

After installing the News Aggregator, you need to subscribe to SCCC's RSS feed.

Abilon users:
  1. Open Abilon News Aggregator
  2. Click on File
  3. Select "New"
  4. Select "RSS or ATOM Feed"
  5. In the Text Box under "Feed URL" copy and paste the URL of the feed you wish to subscribe to (all SCCC Feeds can be found to the right)
  6. Press OK
RSS 2.0Channel 27
RSS 2.0Employment
RSS 2.0News Release
RSS 2.0E-Support
RSS 2.0Today's Menu
RSS 2.0What's New
