Using Meet Me conferencing
Posted by Doug Browne (Import) on 09 August 2008 07:05 PM

The phone system has 10 Meet Me conference locations.    These are used on a first come first serve bases.  The phone numbers for the locations are 1990 through 1999.

You can use these locations to allow others to call into the conference.   This is not a secure phone conference, you will not be able to password protect the conference, so anyone that knows what conference phone number you are using can dial into your conference.   To start the conference you must follow the steps below:

  1. You must begin the Meet Me conference from an office phone, before anyone else can attend the Meet Me conference.   So prior to your scheduled meeting time, you need to either pick up your handset or press the "New Call" softkey on your phone.
  2. Now press the "More" softkey.

  3. Then press the "MeetMe" softkey.

  4. The phone will beep twice and you will need to enter a number from 1990 to 1999.

  5. You have now begun your Meet Me conference.   As others dial this extension, you will hear one beep.  If someone hangs up you will hear, two beeps.

You will need to stay on the call until all parties are finished with the conference.  If you hang up during the Meet Me conference the other parties may be disconnected.

Also parties from off campus can call into the Meet Me Conference, they will just need to dial 417-199X, and replace the X with the number of the conference location you are planning to use.
